Scott Johnson joined the Urban Leadership Institute in 2005 as the Director of the Paul Robeson Academic International School Of Excellence. He was born and raised in Columbia, Maryland by two educators, Edgar and Pamela. As a part of his upbringing, Scott’s educational philosophy for African American males is exposure and discipline. He believes that our community will benefit from a holistic approach to education and development that impacts the family and larger community. His mission is to ensure that all of our students are properly prepared, motivated, and challenged to prepare for higher education.

Since arriving in Baltimore to attend Morgan State University, Scott has spent time working with the Boys Scouts of America, Foster care program, family counseling for pre-adjudicated youth, and teaching life skills to young adults. His dedication to the P.R.A.I.S.E. Academy is evident in the dynamic activities that comprise the yearly extracurricular schedule each year. Scott Johnson also divides his time as a group facilitator at the Stone Family Foundation and serves as a volunteer basketball coach in his hometown of Columbia.
