Regina P. Salliey was born in Baltimore, MD. She attended Baltimore City Public Schools, and is a graduate of Western Senior High School, the oldest all- girl's public high school in the country. She completed her undergraduate studies and received her Bachelor of Science degree, graduating Cum Laude, from Coppin State College. She received her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work with a concentration in Management and Community Outreach and specialization in Social Action and Community Development.
Regina joined Urban Leadership Institute’s team in July of 2003. Her work experience includes over 6 years of employment at the University of Maryland in several capacities, including the University’s Department of Pediatrics as a community outreach worker for an adolescent HIV Prevention Program. She’s tutored at local middle schools and served as a freshman mentor at Coppin State College. She completed her first year of her graduate study fieldwork at the Baltimore County Department of Social Services, Families and Children division and was an intern for the Mayor’s Office of Children, Youth, and Families for her second year of field placement. Regina has worked on numerous local and regional service projects as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has facilitated youth groups for the Family Tree, KIPP Ujima Village Academy, and the Black Congressional Caucus Youth Leadership Summit. Her passion involves working with and empowering adolescent females.
