Dare To Be Queen Conference

Hosted by the Urban Leadership Institute & Somerset County Public Schools The conference will feature a series of exciting workshops featuring Regina Salliey, Lynn Pinder, David Miller and many other exciting speakers.

Keynote presentations by Kim Armstrong Diamond Development Consulting & Shanae Watkins featured in the award winning documentary Girlhood, breakfast, lunch and give aways. The goal of the conference is to empower adolescent females to realize the power of decision making and to make healthy choices around relationships.

Dare to Be Queen is a "wholistic" and comprehensive curriculum for girls of all races, educational levels, and socio-economic statuses.

From a "wholistic" perspective the Dare to Be Queen touches girls in every facet of their existence; from imaging to abstinence to physical fitness to managing anger to achieving academic excellence to community advocacy, this curriculum compels girls to become Five Star Girl…girls who understand their purpose and as a result walk in their potential. From a comprehensive perspective the Dare to Be Queen is as thorough as it is practical. This curriculum is lined with carefully thought out, research supported activities that will create positive change, invoke a more secure sense of self worth, as well as foster unity and healthy camaraderie among girls.

Practitioners and participants alike will walk away from their experience with Dare to Be Queen better and fully empowered to do more with their lives. Unlike other curriculums, Dare to Be Queen starts internally (with the individual girl) and extends externally (with the community); for we believe that the difference that’s made in us ought to propel us to make a difference in others. This is in fact the philosophy from which queens reign and rule.
